WE MADE IT!
Unplanned Adventures
Yes friends, we finished our Camino de Santiago. Almost fours weeks of travel. Over a dozen videos. And I can’t wait to share more with you!

We’re Still In Spain … For Now
It has been quite the whirlwind, these past few weeks. After we finished the hike, we stayed in Santiago for a few days then headed up to a city called A Coruña for the Festival of San Juan. And now we’re sitting in the middle of northern Spain in a town called León … and I have no idea what’s what anymore. LOL!
We got in yesterday afternoon and had intentions of starting to walk around and see what’s here … when the hostel owner told us about a place that gave away tapas (appetizers) with every drink. You can guess how our evening went. 😃
Our current plan … as far as you can call it a plan … is to explore a few more cities up here that we’ve missed on previous expeditions and start thinking about “What’s Next”. Currently, Albania is a leading candidate. But that’s honestly all we’ve got right now. We’re still processing the Camino (which I’ll get deep into in just a moment).
WE’RE NOW ON PATREON!
Real quick … I’ve started up Patreon to go along with the YouTube Membership so folks can have a choice between platforms. What’s there, you ask? Exclusive videos, posts, and a community of folks who are supporting the channel. So please take a peek and see what we’re doing over there!
WE MADE IT! ... and I Didn't Expect to FEEL THIS WAY
Camino De Santiago E16: Nikki and I hiked from Porto Portugal all the way to Santiago Spain. Yes, on our own two feet. Well, technically our own four feet. Which using some basic math of the average number of human strides per mile times the distance of our walking between those two countries … and yep … almost half a million steps have been taken.
WAIT! … there’s two of us, which means doubling that. So between Nikki and I we walked …. HOLY @^%$ that’s a lot of freaking footprints.
But before we get to that glorious moment when that last step was taken … you can’t understand the ending until you understand the journey. So let’s start there … almost a month ago.

The Camino Is Over … Right?
We started walking on March 20th and walked into the square in Santiago on June 17th. Almost a month had passed and who knows how many miles. We were tired, wet, and to be brutally honest … snapping at each other a bit. Maybe more than a bit. It seemed that by the end we were on two different adventures and not in sync anymore. No one really talks about relationships and the Camino, but spending 24×7 with a person for a month, sleeping in bunk beds, never having a real moment to yourself … it all adds up I suppose.
PS: All is well now, in case you’re wondering. 😁
Despite the rain, I was excited to get to the square and the cathedral. It was mostly empty as the pilgrims that came in were standing under cover all along the edges, but I had to be in the center. I truly felt like I had accomplished something special and I had to drink it all in.
One thing that no one mentions is what happens the next day. As in … no more walking and yet that’s all you’ve known for a month. It’s a decidedly strange feeling not having to get up, put on your shoes, and walk. It’s an even bigger weird feeling when after a few days of not … you strap on that backpack to change cities and wonder how in the hell you carried that heavy beast for a month. LOL!
One day, I will do it again. We had contemplated doing back to back Caminos, but I’m glad we’re not. Don’t get me wrong, it was incredible. But it’s also time for a new adventure.
Thanks for supporting the channel and we’ll see you soon!
